We have instances where a user would want to directly create a work order from a sales order without necessarily going through planning.
A product source field must be on the lines when creating a sales order.
Set the Product Source field as “Work Order.”
This activates the work order function.
On clicking on work order, the system allows the user to create a work order directly from the sales order screen.
When you go to the work orders screen in manufacturing, the user will find the work order they created.
You can configure authorized statuses, sub-statuses, and default statuses for each receipt movement type. Similar to stock management rules, this setup narrows down product category-level assignments.
It is important to note that this only works for manufactured goods, as not all goods sold are manufactured.
