SAGE inspire tour came to town recently, and it turned out to be a real learning experience for me. The partner event was held on March 12, 2014, at the TELUS Convention Center in Calgary from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM followed by Cocktail reception. The event featured some of Sage’s key products such as SAGE CRM, SAGE Mobile solutions, Sage Mobile Sales, SAGE 300, and HRMS. Presentations were done by SAGE product experts, and they discussed in detail how their products would help organizations. One of the events of the day was the hands-on workshop for the SAGE Mobile Sales App. The workshop covered the full cycle business process from selling the product, invoicing it and receiving the payment from the customer. This workshop reminded me of Benjamin Franklin’s quote!
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
The session on Sage HRMS emphasized features around managing Employee Records, Policies, attendance management, and talent management from a single point of access. This event also focused on the discovery process of the business requirements of an organization as a tool for selling the SAGE HRMS product.
The other key learning point of the day was learning about renewed SAGE’s focus on the 300 product. There was some speculation in the partners earlier that this product line may be dropped. One really exciting thing was to know the plan to move 300 to a SQL Azure server. I think this is really going to make it a true cloud ERP!
I really appreciated the fact that Sage took the time and effort to actively seek suggestions on functionalities from the audience to place it in their road maps. And the cocktail event had not only social drinking but also helped to create businesses and building relationships.
